Since its founding, the Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance has annually surveyed its public, private and corporate members to track the value of their workforce development investments, as well as the organizations supported with those funds. Considered ‘aligned’ funds, they represent between $10 and $16 million annually for participant job preparation, placement and retention in the Milwaukee community.
These aligned funds have attracted over $3 million in additional funds from national foundations and federal sources to Milwaukee, facilitated by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions and Jobs for the Future. These funding sources include:
- American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Department of Labor Pathways Out of Poverty Grant
- Department of Labor Green Jobs Innovation Fund
- Corporation of National Community Service Social Innovation Fund
