The Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance is a consortium of private and public funders of workforce development (including education, job training and placement, and support services) dedicated to increased employment that benefits both businesses that need skilled workers and individuals seeking good jobs with family-supporting wages.

 Vision                                                          

The components of the collective vision include:

•  A formalized structure of coordinated advocacy  
   and funding for maximum effectiveness


•  Elimination of duplication of services, especially in
    case management and data collection


•  Use of workforce intermediaries to provide efficient          
    coordination of services to employers,
   
    community-based organizations and workers alike

•  Filling the gaps in the recruitment, training, and    
    support services for low-income workers

•  Reducing barriers to successful employment

•  Bringing the clout and resources of the Alliance to
    realign the public workforce system and the private
    sector to better meet needs

                    •  Strengthen and expand the workforce system by leveraging local investments

                    •  Build the capacity of the workforce system, both public and private

                    •  Improve career advancement opportunities for low-income individuals

                    •  Help employers get the skilled workers they need

                    •  Advocate for policies that sustain effective workforce partnerships
